The Würth Group is the global market leader in the development, production and sale of assembly and fastening materials. The globally active family-owned company headquartered in Künzelsau includes over 400 companies, which are located in 80 countries with more than 2,700 branches.

Business units of the Würth Group

The Würth Group is divided into two business areas: The Würth line focuses on the production of assembly and fastening material for customers from crafts and industry. Other trading and production companies, the so-called Allied Companies, are active in adjacent business areas, such as in electrical wholesale, electronics and financial services. According to the provisional annual financial statements, the Group generated sales of EUR 20.4 billion in the financial year 2023.

From two-man operation to a global corporation

From the Würth screw wholesale shop founded in 1945 with two employees, a group of which currently has more than 87,000 employees, of whom more than 43,000 employees every day have direct contact with customers via the various sales channels. More than four million customers trust the high-quality products and comprehensive service that goes far beyond the individual product.

World Market Leader in the Sale of Fastening Materials

In the core business, the Würth Line, the product range for craft and industry comprises over 125,000 products: From screws, screw accessories and anchors to tools, chemical-technical products and personal protection equipment. The Allied Companies of the Würth Group, which either operate in business areas adjacent to the core business or in diversified business areas, round off the range by offering products for DIY stores, material for electrical installations, electronic components (e.g. circuit boards) as well as financial services.

Multi-channel strategy as a success factor

The positive development of the Group is based on the strategic orientation in the field of digitalization, combined with the multi-channel strategy. Important components are the online shop, the Würth App and the e-procurement supplemented by the dense branch network for stationary material procurement. Other success factors include modern logistics as well as product innovations and services tailored to them. We are a Family Business

Würth is a family business that was founded by Adolf Würth in 1945. Prof. Reinhold Würth, today’s Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Würth Group’s Family Trusts, took over the business at the age of 19 after his father had passed away and developed it further in the following years. Starting from the early years of the company in post-war Germany, he turned the former two-man business into a worldwide operating trading group.

Our Philosophy

We owe it to Reinhold Würth that the Würth Group has a clear business orientation: It is marked by a strong brand policy, future-oriented product strategy, closeness to the customer, clear quality offensive, thinking in terms of visions and not least by a strong corporate culture.
